“MetOffGate – the questions begin“. A press release from the right-wing think tank Global Warming Policy Foundation! Thanks Anthony, and thanks for the collection of right-wing UK papers singing the same song. Thus disproving Global Warming.
Benny Peiser of the Foundation sez (italics mine):
Not only is the lack of Government preparedness a cause for concern, but we wonder whether there may be another reason for keeping the cold warning under wraps, a motive that the Met Office and the Cabinet Office may have shared: Not to undermine the then forthcoming UN Climate Change Conference in Cancun.
Nothing like a good conspiracy theory. Here’s the first question: how long have you lads been off your meds?
“MetOffGate”? Just slides off the tongue, doesn’t it?
Hmm, all these alleged multitudinous wide open gates with invisible science error prone trojan horses said to be bolting in all directions!
Sadly, when one peers behind the thick veil of propaganda smoke that envelopes these so called gates of deception and take a very careful examination of each in it’s own proper context, one cannot not even see what the fuss is all about(thank you Google Scholar Search).
As the late Winston Churchill once said “A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.”.
Ah, but the Met Office did warn the UK authorities in October. It was the British people who had told the Met Office not to bother them with longer range forecasts. Benny seems not to have asked the Met Office about the matter, but that could lead to a sane and reasonable explanation which would be too inconvenient for the GWPF’s ongoing and nutty narrative.
