“North America snow models miss the mark“. Steven Goddard is like a moth to a flame when it comes to claiming that short-term weather factors are proof of climate trends. This post is yet another spin on the theme of there’s still snow, so how can there be global warming? Steven gets more truculent every time he gets shot down on this. There’s also a replay of the old argument that some of the “climate models” didn’t exactly predict today’s weather, so all climate models are wrong!

Surely even Anthony Watts is embarrassed by these posts? No, he’s standing by him. Perhaps he feels that Steven’s nonsense is usefully occupying the minds of suggestible denialists.

“U.N. Climate Chief Resigns“. This is what Anthony Watts actually lives for. He knows in his heart of hearts that global warming is real and man-made. He just wants to delay action as long as possible for selfish partisan reasons.

In fact, Yvo de Boer is quitting to pursue the same climate goals by advising industrial clients directly.

This post is probably also an attempt to cement the false belief that the IPCC is part of the United Nations, a useful deception when trying to enlist isolationist Americans in your cause.

“John Coleman’s next TV special airs tonight“. Anthony Watts’ friend, “iconic weatherman” John Coleman, airs another special on local San Diego TV. “Global Warming: Meltdown” is apparently a rehash of the failed Climategate quote-mining operation, with our own Anthony Watts and Dr. John Christy (a scientist of the “there’s only a little global warming, and maybe it’s actually good. So let’s not rush into anything” school) as guests. Coleman has yet to follow through with his threatened fraud lawsuit against Al Gore.

This sounds so amusing that I’m almost tempted to track down the inevitable YouTube link…

“Blame it on Asia, yeah that’s the ticket“. Anthony posts a copy-and-paste of a news item in Nature, suggesting that air pollution in Asia has temporarily diminished global warming. This is usually a signal for his supporters to flood the article comments. Maybe he’s preparing the ground for the “we can fix global warming with a massive emission of pollutant that balances out the CO2 greenhouse effect” tactic.

After two years of stonewalling, NASA GISS FOIA files are now online. Anthony thanks the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a right-wing lobbying operation, for “obtaining” correspondence from NASA’s GISS about temperature data sets after a “two-year battle”. This will predictably be quote-mined for spinnable snippets just as the stolen CRU e-mails were.

Gore on the Arctic (again). Boy, there’s no one Anthony Watts obsesses over more that Al Gore. But he’s getting a bit self-conscious about revealing his right-wing biases, so he has buddies do the muttering for him. In this case they’re enraged that Gore is reporting the evidence and predictions of Canukistan scientist. A scientist who uses climate models to make predictions! That’s wrong! Those things can’t be trusted! (Please suggest another way to make a climate prediction then.)

Then Anthony pulls out the measuring tape and crows about his page rank compared to Al Gore’s.
